The Life, Music and Times of Maia

This is my space and place to... SHARE! I'm a singer-songwriter? I guess I am. Here's where I'll talk about the laughs, the cries and the music I listened to through it all. Hey, maybe I'll end up sharing some of my videos! I try not to live life with regrets, and it's been okay so far... <3

theroyalsons:

I believe that you and me
Are everything I’ve ever fought for.
So why would we just turn and leave
When we both see we need each other?

Old habits die hard.

Just like all the pretty lights in the sky… Reminds me of Andrew Belle

Big day for me today: The new, weekly Modern Art Notes Podcast debuts!
My first guest is artist Chris Burden, the artist who created what is almost certainly America’s most popular public artwork: Urban Light (2008, above) at/outside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Later this fall LACMA will also install Burden’s Metropolis II (2011), which has been something of a viral video hit on the interwebs. Burden is also known for risk-embracing 1970s performance pieces such as Shoot (1971), in which Burden was shot by a friend.
You can download or listen to the first MAN Podcast here and you can subscribe via RSS feed here. The show is currently in iTunes’ review process, but it’ll be up there soon. Also, please follow (and stream!) The Modern Art Notes Podcast on Tumblr here.
